    Graduate Institute of Electronic Engineering

The Graduate Institute of Electronic Engineering (henceforth referred to as “the Institute”) of Cheng Shiu University (“the University”) was established in 2003 as a departmental-level research unit. The goal of the Institute is to further the state of the art of microelectronic research in Taiwan. The Institute affiliates with Tainan High-Tech Science Park and other top-tier research institutions in Southern Taiwan in achieving this goal.

The Institute consists of two divisions, the microelectronic division and the microwave communications division. The goal of the microelectronic division is to foster research and innovation in such disciplines as semiconductor fabrication, testing, and circuit design. The focus of the microwave communications division is on RF circuit design, antenna design, and electromagnetic compatibility. Combining these two divisions and through a series of comprehensive technical courses targeting working professionals, the Institute actively seeks to advance and update the knowledge base of individuals in the broad discipline of electronic engineering.

      Department of Electronic Engineering

The Department of Electronic Engineering at Cheng Shiu University is composed of Bachelor program (Daytime and nighttime), and master program now. The design of curriculum aims to concentrate on “Chip applications” and” Industry knowledge” as core competence, and integrate the trend of the industry to scheme three fields: Microelectronics, Photoelectric, and Green Energy Technology Applications. With the combination of theory and application, the well-designed courses cultivate engineers to apply the professional engineering knowledge to design, conduct experiments as well as integrate systems to meet the industry’s needs.  Additionally, the Department participated in the International Engineering and Technology Education Certification in 2006, and was honorably approved for by Accreditation Council, Institute of Engineering Education Taiwan for six years’ certification in 2007. With the authorization by the members of Washington Accord, the graduates of the Department will obtain the upgrading international competitiveness.
